Mission Statement

To actively serve the Winston-Salem/Greenville District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church by following the directions of the 2006 C.M.E. Book of Discipline; specifically caring for and maintaining local church properties.

Goals

To conduct one training workshop each conference year where trustees from local church have been invited and/or are present to educate the attendees in the following areas:

Duties and Responsibilities of members of local Trustee Boards

¨Acquiring, maintaining, and disposing of church properties and matters related to the same, in accordance with the Official Board, Church, or Quarterly Conference.

¨For purchase, maintaining, or selling properties and signing the necessary legal documents.

¨Seeing that Deeds, Titles, Warranties, and other important legal documents are kept securely.

¨To keep inventories of properties, contents, etc.

¨To see that properties are adequately insured.

¨To report to the Quarterly Conference on the number, value, titles, debts on, income from (if any), and insurance on church properties.

¨To hold properties, only in trust, for the Connectional Church.

¨To make the properties accessible to the Pastor or other authorized ministers for proper meetings, those recognized by the law, and usage for the CME Church.

All duties and responsibilities of the local Trustee Board are governed by the 2006 CME Book of Discipline.
